Mrs Alafiya Sachak

Hello, my name is Alafiya Sachak (pronounced exactly as it's spelt). I am the Director of AHPs and Nursing at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and a Speech and Language Therapist by profession. Originally from Mumbai, India, my career has taken me across the US, India, and the UK, giving me first-hand experience of adapting to new cultures and environments.

These experiences have shaped my passion for inclusion, equality, and creating opportunities for others. I strongly believe in the power of mentorship and have been fortunate to learn from people who encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is to say "yes" to opportunities, even when they feel a little daunting, as that is often where growth happens.

As a wife, mother of two boys who I absolutely adore, and healthcare leader, I am committed to helping create welcoming and inclusive communities where everyone feels supported, valued, and able to thrive. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming and baking. I am very excited to be part of the BIAHPA Leadership Committee, and I look forward to contributing to this Association.
