Mr Ramiz Mungroo

I am currently serving as a Directorate Professional AHP Lead and a paramedic. Born and raised in London, I am the proud son of Mauritian immigrants who, like many of their generation, arrived in the UK with limited means but immense resilience. As a first-generation university graduate, I recognise the privileges I hold — being male and UK-born — and I'm committed to using my position to support and empower other Allied Health Professionals in achieving their aspirations.

When I began my paramedic training nearly twenty years ago, it was uncommon to see colleagues from a South Asian background within the ambulance service. Today, it's encouraging to witness greater diversity reflected in the workforce. However, I believe we still have a long way to go, particularly in ensuring that our leadership teams are as diverse as the communities we serve.
