Mr. Vignesh Murali

He/him

Divisional Operations Director, Surgery Division — Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Trust

Charity Director — Rationale Arts

I am a physiotherapist by background and a healthcare leader with a strong passion for inclusion, culture, and community. Originally from Chennai, India, I moved to the UK at the age of 13 and trained as a physiotherapist before transitioning into operational leadership. I have held a number of senior roles in the NHS over the past five years, most recently in Nottingham, currently being the Director of Operations for Surgery at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Though now firmly rooted in operational leadership, I continue to maintain a small clinical practice to stay connected to my professional roots.

I am a clear advocate of inclusion and equity, having chaired multiple staff networks. This was honoured with both a Trust-level and national award in 2024 for my contributions to inclusion in healthcare.

I am also the founder and chair of Rationale Arts, a non-profit organisation dedicated to using creativity to drive social impact, and serve on the Inclusion Committee for Yorkshire Tennis. I am a keen player and advocate for the sport.

Outside of work, I am a devoted husband and father to two young children. Deeply connected to my heritage and committed to giving back, my family and I actively support initiatives that celebrate community, culture, and healthcare professions — particularly the Allied Health Professions.

I am excited to be part of this initiative and look forward to working alongside a diverse, creative, and passionate group.
